SIM Network Unlock PIN

Most Android phones are quite simple to navigate.  Best of all, they feature access to a variety of apps that you can use to simply your life.  But what happens if you need to unlock your phone from your network carrier?  The best answer is to contact UnlockBase for an unlock code.  Whether you’re traveling overseas and need your phone unlocked or you simply want to switch carriers, UnlockBase simplifies the process of making your phone compatible with other networks.

“SIM Network Unlock Pin Means” You Need an Unlock Code

When you go to unlock your phone, all you need to do is insert a SIM card from the carrier you want to switch to.  If your phone is locked, it will likely display the message SIM Network Unlock PIN.  This means that you’ll need to buy an unlock code from a reputable service provider.

You’ll Need Your IMEI Number to get an Unlock Code

Keep in mind that you’ll need your phone’s IMEI number to buy the unlock code.  On most phones, you can easily identify your IMEI number by typing *#06# and hitting the send or call button.  You’ll receive a message with the IMEI number.

Unlocking Your Phone is Simple

After giving your IMEI number to an unlock code service provider and receiving the code, you’ll enter it into your phone and hit the unlock button.  It’s as simple as that.  If for some reason the unlock code doesn’t work, this most likely means there have been too many failed attempts.  To overcome this problem, you’ll need to do a full reset on your phone.  You’ll also want to make sure that your new SIM card is valid.  For more information on how to unlock your phone, simply contact us today.

The Takeaway

Basically, if your phone displays “SIM Network Unlock PIN”, it’s asking for an unlock code, which you can purchase from UnlockBase.  We will provide you with a detailed tutorial on how to unlock your phone, and best of all, we provide discounts on many of our unlocking options.

2) Do a screenshot of a map

3) Use cord retracting headphones

To keep your headphone cords from getting tangled, purchase a pair with retractable cords.

4) Save on data

Did you know you can use Foursquare to identify locals who don’t care to share their WiFi passwords?  By doing this, you can keep your data usage to a minimum when traveling.

5) Use airport outlets

Most airports these days are full of USB and electrical outlets.  By using these outlets, you can stay charged when traveling by air.

From your Passport to your birth certificate, take pictures of these documents and save them to your phone.  Make sure to delete them after you’ve returned home.

8) Boost your charge

Download an easy-to-use use voice app, such as Google Voice, to make free calls back home using WiFi.  You can also use this type of app to send texts and much more.

17) Find Airbnb lodging options

If you’re traveling to an area that is lacking in hotel options, use your phone or tablet to search for Airbnb homes and condos.  You might find you can rent a home for cheaper than a hotel room.

Mobile Phones: 4 Innovative Companies & Organizations

Did you know that there are nearly seven billion cell phone subscriptions? This means that there’s almost one cell phone subscription for everyone on the planet. You can even choose for all of your phone’s proceeds to be given to a charity. And if you’re looking to buy a phone, Gizmogul can help you purchase one that meets your needs, and when making the purchase, you can feel good knowing that part of the money being spent is going to a charity.

2) KnowRoaming

Yep, that’s right! KnowRoaming provides its customers with a sticker that goes on their SIM cards in their phones. When using the phones at home, normal carrier rates apply. However, when traveling abroad, the sticker activates itself and the phones switch to the KnowRoaming network, which provides cheap roaming rates. Remember, prior to using it – you’ll need to unlock your phone first.

3) Cell Phones for Soldiers

One of the best ways to support our beloved freedom is by joining the Armed Forces. Another great way is by making sure that each soldier has a reliable way of communicating with their loved ones back home, and this is the goal that Cell Phones for Soldiers strives to achieve. The versatile cell phones from BlackBerry boasts a wide-range of features, including Internet access, appointment scheduling, and still for most of their phones the physical keyboard…  But as with any type of phone, it’s only good if it can work on your local carriers. If your BlackBerry is locked, then you’ll want to take the time to have it unlocked. Fortunately, there’s a six-step process you can follow to unlock your BlackBerry.

Step 1: Identify your Unlock Code

First, you’ll need to identify your unlock code, and to do this you’ll need your phone’s IMEI number.

  • On a BlackBerry 10, click the Advanced tab under the phone’s Settings.
A dropdown menu should include a Hardware Tab. Click it and you’ll see your IMEI number.
  • On a BlackBerry 6, 7, 8 or 9 you need to click Device under the Options menu.
Now click Device Status Information, and you can find your IMEI.
  • If you have a BlackBerry 5 or earlier version, simply click Status under the Options menu, and you’ll see your IMEI.

Or simply phone this number *#06# with your keypad.

Step 2: Call, chat online or visit your carrier in person

Now you will need to contact your carrier; most will unlock it for free if your contract is up.  Tell them you would like to unlock your phone and that you already have the phone’s IMEI number.  If your contract with the carrier is not up, then you may have to take a different route of getting your phone unlocked.

Step 3: Taking an alternative route

If your carrier refuses to give you an unlock code, you can always pay a third-party service provider for one. Before choosing a third-party service provider.  The provider will need your phone’s IMEI number, and although receiving the unlock code may take up to three days, in most cases, it only takes a few hours.

Step 4: Entering you unlock code

Once you have your unlock code, you’ll need to go to your phone’s Settings and select the Security and Privacy tab.  Then click on SIM Card and scroll down until you see Unlock Phone.  Click this tab and enter your code, followed by clicking on OK.  Do keep in mind that you have only 10 attempts to enter the number or otherwise your phone will be disabled.

Step 5: Entering your unlock code on a BlackBerry 7

On a BlackBerry 7, all network connections must be disabled before entering your unlock code.  To turn off these connections, go to Manage Connections and turn off WiFi and mobile networks.

Then go to your SIM Card menu and type “MEPD.”  A new menu will pop up and your Network should appear as Active.  If you have a 71xx, 81xx, 91xx model, instead of typing “MEPD,” you’ll need to type “MEPPD.”

Now type “MEP[Alt]2”.  You may then have to type “MEP[Alt]4” if nothing happens.  Remember that pressing the Alt key is suggested so that you can type numbers.  For 71xx, 81xx, and 91xx models, you will instead need to type “MEPP[Alt]2” or “MEPP[Alt]4”.

At this point, you will now enter your unlock code.  Fortunately, you have 255 tries, so it’ll be hard to mess up entering your code the right way.  Once you have entered it correctly, insert your new SIM card.  You can then re-enable your network connections to.

Step 6: Entering your unlock code on a BlackBerry 6 or older version

Simply remove the old SIM card and replace it with the new one.  Turn the phone back on and enter your unlock code
