Welcome to the convenient world of the Google Pixel eSIM, specifically for your new Google Pixel 8! This blog post is dedicated to helping you smoothly set up your eSIM on the Pixel 8, ensuring you make the most out of this innovative feature.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan without the need for a physical SIM card. The Pixel 8’s Google Pixel eSIM function provides a simple way to stay connected.

Benefits of Using eSim on your Google Pixel 8

  • Hassle-free carrier switching
  • No need for physical SIM cards
  • Perfect for international travel
  • Manage multiple numbers on one device

How to Activate your Google Pixel 8 eSIM?

Activate your  Google Pixel eSIM during your Pixel 8 setup process. You don’t need to reset your Pixel 8 if you wish to activate it later or if there was a problem. After setup, follow the instructions for activating an eSim.

Activate an eSim during the set up process

After connecting your phone to Wi-Fi, you’ll be prompted to connect to your carrier’s network if you purchased an eSim from them along with the phone. It takes roughly five minutes to get an eSIM profile in this method.

If your  Google Pixel eSIM does not appear at this point, you can manually locate it by following the instructions below.

Activate an eSim after your phone is set up

This approach may be used to activate Google Pixel eSIM at any time, whether you recently purchased a Pixel 8 or are converting from a standard SIM card to an eSIM. Your only requirement is the QR code issued by your carrier. If you don’t have a QR code, contact your carrier’s customer service.

Note: Most of these procedures can be skipped by scanning the QR code with your Pixel phone’s camera app. This opens the download confirmation screen.

  1. Open the Settings app on your Pixel 8
  2. Select Network & Internet
  3. Click SIMs
  4. Click Add SIM
  5. Click Download a new eSIM
  6. Scan the QR code provided by your service provider
  7. Tap Download in the lower-right corner of your screen to confirm your eSIM
google pixel esim

It takes roughly five minutes to download your eSIM. Your Pixel 8 phone will automatically connect to your carrier’s network once it has been downloaded.

How to Transfer an Existing  eSIM to a Pixel 8

When switching from a previous Pixel phone to a Pixel 8, you can transfer your eSIM without manually deactivating and reactivating it. While you can only transfer eSIMs to a Pixel 8, you may transfer from any Pixel phone that supports eSIM.

This option arises throughout the Pixel 8 phone setup process. Transfer your eSIM after setting up your Pixel 8 by deactivating it on your previous phone and following the procedures above to activate a new eSIM. This may entail contacting your carrier.

Troubleshooting

  • Restart your Pixel 8 if you face any setup issues.
  • Reach out to your carrier for help with the Google Pixel eSIM activation.
  • Keep your device updated for the best performance.

Conclusion

The Google Pixel eSIM on your Pixel 8 brings a new level of ease and flexibility to your mobile experience. Ideal for travelers or those who prefer digital solutions, the eSIM feature is a significant advantage of the Pixel 8. Enjoy staying connected with minimal fuss and maximum efficiency!

Google Pixel 8 Pro Review? The Google Pixel series has consistently stood out for its exceptional software and camera capabilities. With the release of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Google aims to reaffirm its position in the market. In this review, we’ll delve deep into both these smartphones, examining their design, features, and the unprecedented seven-year software support that Google has introduced, setting new industry standards.

Google Pixel 8 Review : A Compact Delight

Google continues its two-model trend with the Pixel 8 series, and the standard model, the Google Pixel 8, is now the latest entry-tier flagship in the Pixel lineup.

  • Design and Feel – Design-wise, the Pixel 8 doesn’t deviate much from its predecessors, with the key change being its size. At 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm, it’s the smallest mainline Pixel phone since the Pixel 5. Small phones might have fallen out of favor, but the Pixel 8’s size feels just right. It strikes a balance that’s comfortable for all, especially those with smaller hands or tired of thumb-stretching displays. While not much else has changed in design, Google’s winning formula remains intact. The camera bar accommodates two new lenses, and bezels are slightly thinner. The aluminum rails and glossy back glass, featuring Gorilla Glass Victus, remain familiar but stylish.
  • Stunning Color Options – The Google Pixel 8 introduces new colorways that are sure to please. Obsidian (black) offers a classic look, while Hazel provides a classy gray/green option. Peony adds a delightful touch of pink to the lineup.
  • Impressions of the Pixel 8 – The Pixel 8 embodies the mantra, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Google retains everything users love about modern Pixel phones and addresses common requests for more compact devices and thinner bezels. The Pixel 8’s compact size and thoughtful design make it a strong recommendation for the upcoming holiday season. Thanks, Google, for delivering a fantastic option.

A Design Evolution: Google Pixel 8 Pro Review

While the Pixel 8 hasn’t undergone major changes, its Pro counterpart, the Pixel 8 Pro, introduces notable upgrades that set it apart from its non-Pro siblings. Here’s the Google Pixel 8 Pro Review

  • Design and Feel – The Pixel 8 Pro features two significant design changes this year. Firstly, it boasts a flat display, a first for a Pro Pixel device. This change eliminates the steep curves found in previous models, making it easier to use Android’s navigation gestures. Secondly, the Pixel 8 Pro sports a matte glass back, crafted from Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This glass feels soft to the touch and is resistant to fingerprints, a departure from the slick, fingerprint-prone backs of the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro. The matte back offers a tactile feel reminiscent of the beloved Pixel 5. Beyond these major alterations, there are more subtle changes.

The camera bar adopts a different design, housing all the lenses in a single “pill” container instead of the “pill + circle” system of the Pixel 7 Pro. Size differences are minimal, with the Pixel 8 Pro being slightly larger than the Pixel 7 Pro by fractions of a millimeter.Color options for the Pixel 8 Pro provide variety. While Obsidian is retained, the Porcelain model replaces the Pixel 8’s Peony variant. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro introduces a stunning Bay (blue) color option, likely to be a popular choice for those seeking a more vibrant phone.
  • Impressions of the Pixel 8 Pro – Having used the Google Pixel 7 Pro extensively, I can confidently say that the Pixel 8 Pro represents a significant design improvement. The matte glass and flat display enhance the user experience, offering comfort and familiarity. While it remains a sizable and weighty phone, those seeking a more compact alternative can consider the Pixel 8.

A Game-Changing Upgrade

The most remarkable improvement isn’t physical but rather software-related. Google made history by announcing that the Pixel 8 series will receive an astonishing seven years of software support. This includes seven Android versions, 84 monthly security updates, and 28 quarterly Pixel Feature Drops, ensuring Google’s support until 2030.

This unprecedented commitment sets Google far ahead of its competitors in terms of software support. Apple typically offers five to six years of iPhone support, Samsung provides five years with only four Android upgrades, and even Fairphone’s celebrated ten-year promise encompasses only five Android upgrades.

While this is a significant leap, it’s unclear if this policy will extend to other Pixel phones. Notably, the $1,800 Google Pixel Fold deserves similar support, considering its premium price tag. For now, the seven-year commitment applies exclusively to the Pixel 8 series, but future developments remain uncertain.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Review Specs

While our initial hands-on experience didn’t allow for comprehensive testing, we can highlight key upgrades. Both phones feature the new Google Tensor G3 chipset, offering improved power and on-device AI capabilities. Exciting AI features like “Best Take” and “Magic Editor” enhance user experiences.

The displays have also seen upgrades, known as “Actua displays.” The Pixel 8 reaches 2,000 nits peak brightness, comparable to the iPhone 15 Pro series. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pro boasts an impressive 2,400 nits with its Super Actua display. However, further testing is required for a precise evaluation.

Conclusion

As we wrap up this hands-on review of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, it’s evident that Google is taking its Pixel smartphones seriously. The consistent design language across all Pixel phones showcases a commitment to a cohesive product lineup. Google is not only adding features that users genuinely appreciate but also refining the look and feel of the devices for maximum comfort.

how to restore android phone from google backup

How to restore android phone from google backup? It may be time-consuming to set up a new phone from scratch, particularly when you have to download and log in to several applications, configure the phone’s settings, and organize everything to your preferences.

Fortunately, Google has greatly simplified the process of switching between Android phones, at least in terms of Google applications and settings.

Backing up your outdated Android phone’s data

how to restore android phone from google backup

How to restore android phone from google backup? Before transferring your data to a new Android phone, you should make a backup on your old phone

Every Android gadget has access to Google’s backup feature. Some original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), like Samsung, provide their own backup and restore functionality to make switching between two phones from the same brand simple.

Although Google’s backup service is comprehensive, certain applications and games, such as WhatsApp, provide their own backup services. If you wish to save your data on the cloud, you may do it in a variety of ways, and there are a variety of apps available to help you do so.

If you have an Android phone, Google One is the simplest choice.

In order to activate Backup by Google One, go to Settings > Accounts and Backup > Backup Data. Google will periodically and automatically back up your phone. However, choose Backup now if you’re about to begin setting up a new device and want to ensure that your data is safe.

how to restore android phone from google backup

You can back up your applications, app data, photographs, videos, messages, call history, device settings, and Google account data, all for free, on the 15GB of free storage space that comes with a Google account. To choose which Google applications you want to back up, go to the Backup information section and touch on Google account data.

Google One’s subscription plans start at $1.99 a month ($19.99 a year) for 100GB of storage, so if you need more space you can get it if you’re willing to pay for it.

How to restore android phone from google backup

When setting up a new Android phone or after a factory reset, you have the option to restore from a Google backup. Start the phone up, accept the terms and conditions if applicable, and then connect to a Wi-Fi network by tapping the Start button.

Click Next when prompted to Copy applications and data, and then choose Can’t use the previous device. Use the same Google account you used on your old phone to sign in. There will be a window that displays the most recent backup copy. Choose it, then choose the data and programs you want to restore, and finally, hit the Restore button.

My Android phone won’t recover from a Google backup

It’s assumed by Google that the backup was made in the same or a later Android version. If you’re moving from an Android 13 device to an Android 11 device, your Google backup won’t work. Google will only use a backup made on the same or later Android version. Google backups will not work when switching from an Android 13 device to an Android 11 device.

If I get a new locked Android phone, would the unlock from my previous one work on it?

No, the restriction on your SIM card is determined by the IMEI of your device. Each device has its own unique IMEI number, which cannot be shared across devices. If you want to use your new smartphone without restrictions, you’ll need to unlock your phone first. To do so, follow the instructions below

Go to this link  https://www.unlockbase.com/unlock-phone/.

how to restore android phone from google backup
  • Select the brand of your phone.
  • Type the IMEI of your phone.
  • Enter your email for confirmation.
  • Choose the country where the phone is locked to.
  • Choose your network/carrier.
  • Confirm your payment and wait for an email confirmation.
  • If you got the email, remove your SIM card.
  • Insert an unaccepted SIM card.
  • You should now see a box to enter the unlock code.

Conclusion

A Google backup may be restored on a brand-new or factory-reset Android phone. When prompted to Copy applications and data, choose Can’t use the old device and click Next. Google Pixel 7 Pro

Both the Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro are significant improvements over the Pixel 6 and 6 Plus that Google released last year. With a striking new appearance and an all-new chipset, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro launched a new era for Google’s mobile devices. Despite their immense potential, these technologies typically fell short of their lofty goals.

Google hasn’t perfected them with this revision, but its Pixel phones hold their own against the likes of the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. They’re a year late, but better late than never, since they’re what Google’s Pixel 6 and 6 Pro should have been all along.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: Pros and Cons

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is a slight upgrade over the outstanding Pixel 6 Pro, offering noticeable improvements to the photography experience, particularly at the extreme ends of the zoom.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro, a flagship device with a full experience, is reasonably priced. The camera continues to be in the lead, helped along by a fantastic display, ample power, and a long enough battery life. The icing on the cake is getting first dibs on Android updates.

PROSCONS
Clean software experienceNot many changes from the Pixel 6 Pro
Competitive priceA couple of issues with phone calls
Useful 2x and 10x camera crop modesShorter battery life than the Pixel 7
Powerful software toolsCan get a bit warm under a load

Google’s new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, with details on availability and pricing

The base model of the Google Pixel 7 Pro costs $899 and comes with 128 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM. You can get it in the States, Europe, and even certain Asian nations. It is now available for purchase via Google, Best Buy, and other outlets.

  • 599$ for a Pixel 7 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage

8GB/256GB: $699

  • 12GB/128GB for $899 on the Google Pixel 7 Pro

12GB/256GB: $999

12GB/512GB: $1,099

Google Pixel 7 Pro: Design

Google Pixel 7 Pro continues Pixel 6 series design. It features the same famous camera visor on the rear, an all-glass design, and rounded display edges. The two-tone design language is gone, the curved edges are subtler, and the camera visor circles the camera lenses to highlight them.

The Pixel 7 Pro’s shiny metallic bar scratches and damage easily.Consider buying a Google Pixel 7 Pro case to avoid that issue. The camera visor integrates somewhat more into the phone’s side rails. Despite its advancements, last year’s Pixel 6 series was divisive, so if you disliked it, you probably won’t like this one either.

If you update, you can’t use your Pixel 6 Pro cases since the power and volume buttons have shifted down. Because screenshotting is tougher than it should be, I still find the button location weird. I’d rather exchange the power and volume buttons. Finally, there’s a top mmWave window.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro camera

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro’s camera enhancements are also tiny, but I believe they matter more. Both the Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro feature the same 50-megapixel f/1.85 primary camera sensor as last year. Both include a 12-megapixel ultrawide, but the 7 Pro’s has autofocus and can take macro photos.

Compared to last year’s 4x, the 7 Pro’s 48-megapixel telephoto camera sports 5x optical zoom. Pixel 7’s selfie camera has the same 10.8-megapixel sensor as the 7 Pro and 6 Pro, but it doesn’t have the telephoto module.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Conclusion

The Google Pixel 7 Pro’s performance and value are unmatched. It has superb industrial design, and the slight tweaks from the 6 Pro make it more elegant. Given the price difference between the 7 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, its camera might be industry-leading. The Pixel 7 Pro, like its predecessors, has poor battery life. The 7 Pro’s outstanding camera, Android 13’s elegant, uncluttered design, and reduced pricing encourage me to remain in Google’s device ecosystem for a long time.

Now that it has finally made its way to stores a few months after its initial introduction, the Google Pixel 6a 5g has a formidable challenge: it must once again prove itself to be the best budget phone to buy, especially among those who place a premium on having a high-quality camera.

Google’s flagship products have been met with mixed reviews, while the company’s mid-range handsets have been well-received by consumers. Their selling point was always easy to summarize: top-tier cameras with respectable specs. Now, with the Google Pixel 6a 5g, the company is increasing the stakes by including its own flagship Google Tensor SoC in addition to a Google-tier camera, just like on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Design and Display

The Google Pixel 6a 5g’s body is noticeably thicker than that of the Google Pixel 6 Pro, and it also feels bulkier in the hand. The camera module makes the Google Pixel 6a thicker, yet it is still slimmer overall. The top grille acts as a microphone and a speaker for stereo sound.

There is no curve to the screen; instead, there is a thin bezel on all four sides. The rear is curved just a bit, making it both more slippery and more prone to fingerprints. The Google Pixel 6a 5g “Charcoal Gray” model has a two-tone back, with the area just above the camera visor being a lighter shade of gray than the rest of the back. The back is plastic, while the frame is aluminum.

The screen of the Google Pixel 6a 5g is an AMOLED panel with full HD resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. The display’s brightness is satisfactory, and the camera hole isn’t too large. Sunlight does make it a little hard to read, but keep in mind that this is a mid-range device.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Camera

google pixel 6a 5g

The Google Pixel 6a 5g phone keeps the same two-camera arrangement as its predecessor, the Pixel 5a, but the ultrawide-angle lens’s resolution has been reduced. The Google Pixel 6a 5g has a 12MP camera, whereas the Pixel 5a has 16MP. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 6a 5g phone’s ultrawide angle lens should let in more light thanks to the larger sensor. A 12.2-megapixel sensor is still used for the primary camera.

In discussing Google’s Pixel phones, it’s tempting to center on still photography due to the excellent picture quality that can be achieved with the company’s mobile devices thanks to Google’s efforts. The Google Pixel 6a 5g, on the other hand, has some great video features as well, including the ability to record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. This phone’s Tensor chipset allows for Live HDR+ in 4K, which results in more vibrant colors, while a voice enhancement tool for selfie videos helps to reduce background noise.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Performance

google pixel 6a 5g

Now that Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones (both released last autumn) have switched to Google’s own custom-made Tensor processor, it’s the turn of the Google Pixel 6a 5g to do the same. The purpose of Google’s hardware is to contain cores specialized to compute-intensive AI activities; these are the kinds of capabilities that set apart the Pixel experience from other Android phones, such as on-device translation and dictation.

The emphasis on AI and ML means that ultra-fast performance may not be a high priority for Tensor. The Pixel 6a’s single-core and multi-core Geekbench 5 scores were significantly higher than the Galaxy A53’s: 1,057 and 745, respectively. The Google Pixel 6a 5g phone’s score of 41 fps on the 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited benchmark was significantly higher than the Galaxy A53’s score of 13.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Battery Life and Charging Speed

The Google Pixel 6a 5g phone’s poor battery life has been a real mystery. Google claims that the phone will last for up to 24 hours of typical use and that by activating the Extreme Battery Saver Mode and turning off features, and suspending numerous programs, the phone will last for up to 72 hours. Even though the Google Pixel 6a 5g phone’s 4,410 mAh battery is less than the 4,680 mAh battery in the Pixel 5a, the Google Pixel 6a 5g still manages to outperform its predecessor.

The Google Pixel 6a 5g can be charged at up to 18W, though the appropriate adapter must be purchased separately. In 30 minutes of charging with a 15W charger I had on hand, I was able to get a completely dead Google Pixel 6a 5g to 80%.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Special Features

The Google Pixel 6a 5g, like the rest of the Google Pixel 6 series, includes all the typical Google features. Whether it’s the customizable Material You experience or the now-playing music discovery tool (personally, one of my all-time favorite features), everyone can find what they’re looking for here. Tensor’s advantages include things like real-time, high-quality voice dictation.

Not much has changed from previous Pixel 6 models, and the experience is the same as usual. Google’s new “camouflage” function is rumored to be driven by Tensor, but it will also be available on the Pixel 6 family of devices. The way it functions is by adjusting an object’s hue to blend in with its surroundings. This indicates that an object need not be removed from a photograph in order to avoid distracting from the main subject; rather, it can be altered to better blend in with its surroundings.

Google Pixel 6a 5g review on Price

Starting at $449, you can now get your hands on a Google Pixel 6a 5g. That’s $20 more than Apple asks for their entry-level iPhone SE and $20 more than Samsung costs for its midrange Galaxy A53 (2020). Verizon’s Google Pixel 6a 5g, which can be purchased for $499, is the only one to support the carrier’s mmWave-based 5G network.

Conclusion

The Google Pixel 6A 5G is an easy phone to suggest if you do not place a high value on having an extremely large display and instead want a phone with a reasonable size that you could actually be able to carry in your pocket. It has outstanding performance, a camera system that is dependable, extremely good battery life, and it is going to get a lot of positive reviews. Google Pixel 5 Unlocked: Unlocking a phone’s SIM card allows it to be used with any phone carrier, not simply the one that operates on the seller’s network. Depending on where you made your purchase, your phone may come with a locked or unlocked SIM card by default.

What is SIM lock?

Mobile phone manufacturers incorporate a technical restriction known as a SIM lock, simlock, network lock, carrier lock, or (master) subsidy lock into GSM and CDMA mobile phones. This restriction is intended for use by service providers to limit the use of these phones to particular countries and/or networks.

When a Google Pixel 5 phone is locked, what does it mean?

If your Google Pixel 5 phone is locked, this indicates that it can only be used with the specific carrier from where you got the phone in the first place. If your phone is locked, it will not become automatically unlocked when the contract you have with your provider expires, regardless of whether or not the balance of the contract has been paid in full.

Is your Google Pixel 5 unlocked? How will you know?

You can quickly determine if the Google Pixel 5 phone you have is locked or not by following a few straightforward steps. Simply insert a SIM card from a different carrier into your Google Pixel 5 phone, and then check to see if the device displays the name of the new network. If it does, then you are using the correct SIM card.

In the event that it does, and in the event that you are able to use the phone, the phone has been unlocked.

Benefits of Google Pixel 5 unlocked

Network Freedom

If you are moving to a different carrier, the company will make every effort to sell you a new phone so that they may enroll you in a new payment plan and sign a new agreement with them. If you currently have a phone that meets your needs and you are satisfied with it, you can save money by unlocking your current smartphone rather than purchasing a new one. Obtaining an unlock code for your phone is not an expensive operation, and doing so can save you a significant amount of money over time.

Hassle-Free Travels

Traveling outside of the country is likely to run up significant additional costs on your service plan. For this reason, airports typically have kiosks where local prepaid SIM cards can be purchased. After successfully unlocking your phone, you can just insert one of these sim cards, and you will no longer need to be concerned about incurring unanticipated fees.

UnlockBase is the service we advise you to use when you are ready to unlock your phone. Because many questionable services sell unlock codes, it is crucial to emphasize that this particular one has been checked out and is a legitimate option. Therefore, make use of UnlockBase to acquire a code that will allow you to use your phone without any limitations.
